The lowest point of my life so far. The inevitable crash after two years out of work and scratching a living to try and survive. Betrayed by cult members. A long way from home. But, in the company of Jesus, no weapon formed by the Enemy will prosper. Reflect, repent, receive, forever, for His glory alone. Psalm 139 v7:10 "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast." Psalm 30 v5 "Tears may linger at nightfall, but joy comes in the morning." After this night I awoke to this scene... Glory to God!

Well, it has been a while since I posted and the main reason will be summed up in the next four videos. This from the 3rd October was recorded on the Sabbath walk before I became homeless in Auckland, New Zealand. Though I am sad to leave this house of blessing, it has also been a time of much challenge and betrayal. Onwards and upwards... So, how do we overcome despair, doubt and fear? Get back to basics, get back to God and get in the 'Spiritual Gymnasium.' Carpe crucis! "Are you looking at me?" Travis Bickle's famous monologue challenges his mirror image. And yet, in evangelism, we are to try and share a fundamental difference with those who would listen, with the presupposition on the other part that we are the same. "Yes," is our reply, "and God is here with me too." I don't think it funny, but it is not a coincidence that the breaks in blogging always relate to a break in faith. Yet we do not suffer anything that is uncommon to man. This first post was actually deleted at one point, as nobody likes to reveal their weakness or despair. However, the Lord has shared with me about the death by suicide of two young pastors recently, and I hope and pray that in sharing my times of weakness, I can in some way encourage others to take strength and hope. These are difficult times, and we are called to trust in God's plan and outworking of salvation, so let us share our bad and good stories, so that His Holy Spirit can remind us of remedy and overcoming, for God's glory. A good answer, with a hint of the Scottish Highlanders. Praise the Lord! A Sabbath day, with hard words to preach, begins with this shower of blessing. An answered prayer for a daylight walk. Blessed to enter the presence, blessed to be led by the Holy spirit, blessed to run into a friend and a new friend. All glory, honour and praise to the Living God, Jesus, amen. God is SO good. I could underline it, print it in letters ten feet tall, shout it from the rooftops and I STILL would not do it enough justice. Praise be to the Living God. How He writes in layers what we struggle to understand on the surface... This will not make for cheery reading for all but the elect. Yet, that is the gospel of Jesus Christ, that is the truth of our existence, great and small. |
